Doctor Who Story 216 – The Doctor’s Wife

The guy who plays Uncle is doing the same voice as Robin in Ghosts. I just finished watching all of Ghosts. It’s a great show.

Hooray for establishing in canon that Time Lords can regenerate into other genders.

I like the TARDIS and calling the Doctor her thief.

“You’re a bitey mad lady.”

The Doctor does bring home strays.

I love the rapport between Matt Smith and Suranne Jones.

How come Idris has a real name?

Doctor Who Story 215 – The Curse of the Black Spot

I remember this story being terrible. 2 minutes in and it’s already there.

Rory’s gonna die… again.

There is absolutely nothing redeeming about this story.

Doctor Who Story 214 – The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon

Space

That’s really gross that the entire purpose of this skit for a children’s show is to talk about Amy’s genitalia. What is wrong with Moffat?

Time

Part two is less creepy and gross, but still creepy and gross.

Prequel

Nixon’s an asshat, but this guy doesn’t sound like Nixon.

The Impossible Astronaut

Aww, it’s in memory of Elisabeth Sladen.

I don’t get why Amy and Rory are suddenly living in England and not traveling with the Doctor.

Nice that Arthur Darvill gets into the opening titles.

So the Doctor is traveling for 200 years without Amy and Rory, and then he comes back for them? That seems so unlike the character. He runs, he doesn’t return. He hates being alone, alone for 200 years?

So they keep on saying stuff like this shit. Like the Doctor is going to die, all of Tenant’s companions are going to die. It’s really annoying and I wish they would stop this bullshit.

The joke about Americans being gun happy is great.

Also, the Silence make no sense, and they never did, I feel like Moffat had an idea and then forgot what it was supposed to be.

Amy’s preggers! Mazel tov!

Day of the Moon

Amy Pond killed her daughter.

I don’t like that this episode doesn’t start where it left off.

Neil Armstrong, walking on me face.

The Silence really don’t work. It is a good idea, but the execution is a shit show.

I like awkward Rory.

I really don’t like that. The reason humans went to the moon was because the Silence needed a spacesuit? No, humans went to the moon because we have a desire to explore.

Doctor Who Story 213 – A Christmas Carol

A TARDIS Tea Party

Time for another Children in Need special. I don’t expect this to be as good as “Time Crash.”

*don’t make snide comments about children, Adam*

This is really nice that they did this, but silly that they filmed it.

Aww, the kid had a small stumble down the TARDIS stairs and they aired that. Ugh, bad director.

A Christmas Carol

Back to Christmas episodes having to be about Christmas.

I like that Amy and Rory are into role-play.

It’s Dumbledore.

The Muppets did this so much better.

How great would this be if Statler and Waldorf were in this episode.

Finally some Amy and Rory content.

The singing is so cheesy.

Doctor Who Story xx – The Sarah Jane Adventures Series 4 & Sarah Jane’s Alien Files

The Nightmare Man Part One

They’re still doing the whole saga sell. From what I understand Luke is just a featured player this season, yet he’s still in the saga sell.

They really love slowly zooming in on the Earth and the United Kingdom.

That’s not how you get out of handcuffs, get a shim under the clicky clicky parts, tighten it one click while putting the shim in between the clicky clicky parts and the locking mechanism, and then slide it out.

So Luke is going to Oxford, good for the boy genius, but still needs to learn how to be a human. I guess high school wasn’t really teaching him that.

That’s what happens when people learning to be human try to go to high school.

Oh silly Luke, Sarah Jane loves you.

The sass between Mr Smith and K-9 is my new favourite part of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Alien Files: The Trickster and Krislok the Graske

From what I understand these are clip shows. I’m not sure. It seems to have the same theme song. This episode seems to be about the Trickster and the Grask.

The Nightmare Man Part Two

The Nightmare Man is a creepy bastard.

Didn’t think K-9 or Mr Smith would have USB, but apparently they both do.

The Vault of Secrets Part One

Great hair!

I hope this isn’t a clip show.

Rani’s mom is going to save the day.

Really? Mr. Dread?

Prepare to be incinerated! INCINERATE! INCINERATE!

Alien Files: Pied Piper, Ship and Eve

Oh this one is Rani telling the story, at least that’s a change from the original.

This has too much information about Rani’s family and not about the aliens. I don’t believe that they’re actually trying to build an alien database.

The Vault of Secrets Part Two

Rani tricking him out of Gita is great.

Death of the Doctor Part One

Nice, Luke was in, and being awesome.

UNIT is there and sadly no Martha or Brigadier.

I don’t believe the Doctor is dead. Though he is a time traveler so he probably is dead and alive at all times.Well those headquarters stick out like a sore thumb.

So much David Tennant, of course Rani and Clyde would remember him, but it would be nice to show Tom Baker… oh wait there he is and Jon Pertwee.

Oh and now we have Jo Grant.

This story really should have a lot more companions, but obviously they can’t do that. It’s a shame.

The Vulture puppets remind me of the Dark Crystal.

Matt Smith is so much fun.

Alien Files: Sontarans, Wormwood and the Bane Mother

Oh, K-9 is at Oxford with Luke, I hadn’t noticed.

Death of the Doctor Part Two

“Come along, Smith!” Didn’t expect him to refer to Sarah Jane like he does Amy.

Why’s the UNIT lady evil? That explains why it isn’t Martha or Mickey.

Ooooh, they have his TARDIS.

Oh, David Tennant visited all of his companions, even Jo Grant. I love that. I would love to see the Doctor visiting Jamie. Jamie’s the best. I miss Jamie. At least I have the second best companion now with Amy Pond.

Aww, UNIT lady has experienced loss, so she’s teaming up with the baddies.

Oh! They put Patrick Troughton in there… <3 great Doctor.

I forgot they both met many Doctors.

That’s a violent end to the vultures.

Clyde and Rani are very preachy to Santiago and his life style.

Aww, Ian and Barbara are still together. I’d love to see them again, but Ian is so old and Barbara passed away.

The Empty Planet Part One

Oh, Mr Smith is gone, too. Poor Rani.

I’ve lost following this. I should pay better attention.

The girl goes and makes the tea? Gender roles, really.

Robits! They should go to Oxford and get K-9.

Alien Files: Slitheen, Blathereen and Rakweed

Aww, Sarah Jane is so sad about Luke being at university.

Okay, I don’t think I’m going to watch the rest of these alien files.

The Empty Planet Part Two

That robit is strangely weak. Also, a robot can use vision with more than optics. Why not heat vision or other types of cameras that would reveal if someone is a human or mannequin.

Lost in Time Part One

Clyde’s jokes are getting better and better. I liked that Gruffalo comment.

This sounds like it’s going to be a romp.

I like that they’re separated.

Never knew of a Queen Jane (Approximately).

Wow Queen Jane was a child.

Strangely, The Sarah Jane Adventures is the best Doctor Who spin-off. Who would have expected that?

Alien Files: The Berserkers and the Mona Lisa

Lost in Time Part Two

I hate Nazis.

Queen Jane died hundreds of years ago, Rani. Complete your mission.

Oh shit! The lady is a Nazi spy!

Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith Part One

Those special effects make Doctor Who look good.

Don’t just barge into someone’s house.

Poor Sarah Jane, I bet it’s not just aging and disease, but instead the lady down the street.

Uh oh, Ruby’s evil!

Alien Files: The Judoon, Mister Dread and Androvax

Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith Part Two

Poor Sarah Jane getting eaten by Ruby’s external stomach.

This could’ve made a good series finale, and sadly I know that the show won’t get it.

Oh look, Luke.

K-9!

My Sarah Jane: A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen

Oh wow, this aired only a few days after Elisabeth Sladen’s death.

Seeing the clips, Luke and Clyde look so little and young.

“She was cool, man!” – Matt Smith

It’s a shame that Tom Baker wasn’t there.

Doctor Who Story 212 – The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang

The Pandorica Opens

River! Yay! Didn’t think I’ve see Liz X again.

I like River as Cleopatra.

Yar, there be Cybermen!

It’s Rory! Because obviously it is, because Doctor Who can’t keep anyone dead.

Their deus ex machina of Rory’s appearance is horrible and lazy. But I’m glad he’s back.

Amy’s happy to see her dead fiancé, who she forgot about.

Why doesn’t River know who Rory is? It’s her dad, she set them up as Mel.

The Big Bang

Oh it’s wee Amelia Pond!

Oh, the Doctor’s wearing a fez.

I forgot Amy was dead, and I only watched part one a few hours ago.

Rory waiting 2000 years with Amy in a box is ridiculous.

This is a fun romp, even if the story is terrible.

The Dalek begging for mercy is great.

Big ole’ reset button! That’s some great writing there, Moffat.

Awww, Amy and Rory’s daughter is at their wedding.

Mr. Pond!

Dancing floppy Doctor is the best.

Doctor Who Story 211 – The Lodger

I love this episode.

A guy who never wants to go anywhere, huh?

Curtis from Twitch City

I love so much how silly Matt Smith is in this episode. His body work is fantastic.

The head bang is one of the best moments in all Doctor Who history

The cheek kisses!

The back of his soccer costume is 11!

Doctor Who Story 210 – Vincent and the Doctor

Well, I guess I’m going to be crying soon. This is one of my favourite Doctor Who episodes.

The Doctor assuming the monster is evil by only seeing its face is not cool. Not cool, Doc.

I like Vincent and Amy flirting.

Doctor Who rarely discusses depression, rightfully so, it is a kids’ show, but maybe they should more?

The echoing of Vincent Van Gogh’s depression with Amy’s sadness over the loss of Rory is excellent.

“I’m not the marrying type.”

Doctor Who Story 209 – The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood

The Hungry Earth

Doctor Who loves stories about digging holes.

Someone saying “None of your business” to the Doctor who just wanders in asking random questions.

I like that this episode takes place in the past, but it’s 10 years in the future for Rory and Amy.

I like people kissing, but don’t kiss your coworkers.

Cold Blood

I forgot all about Rory being shot. I remember that he disappeared in the crack in the wall, but I forgot about him being shot. Amy forgetting Rory is horrible.

So much about this episode I really love, but it doesn’t come together as a memorable episode. It’s about Humanity’s worst, and it’s about Humanity’s best. It promises a possible fantastic empire for Humanity and the Silurians living and sharing on Earth. Both sides had someone who was hopeful and striving for a peace, and both sides had someone who was willing to kill for their side. I don’t actually know what is wrong with the episode, and why it just doesn’t work, but it doesn’t. I really wish I could articulate it better.

Doctor Who Story 207 – The Vampires of Venice

Rory is wearing a stupid tshirt from his bachelor party. I recently walked by a woman wearing a shirt that says “I Do Team” or something like that. Made me think how horrible our society is that we make clothing for one wear only.

HAHAHA! The Doctor, the cake, telling Rory that Amy tried to kiss him, and he’s a lucky man, she’s a great kisser. I love this show so much.

Oh great a plague episode. It’s more fun when we’re in a plague ourselves.

Amy’s a bit mean to Rory.

My wife makes a good point. Amy is a stripper, so Rory should be less nervous about a stripper jumping out of a cake at his bachelor party.

Why are you scared of heights if you can jump out of a spaceship, crash through a skylight and just stand right back up?

Those children, eating their mother. How rude!
