Every Thursday at my work is SNACK DAY! The greatest holiday, ever! This week, myself, and another were responsible for bringing snack. I decided to bake. Thanks to Smitten Kitchen, I found the perfect item. It’s got apples in it, it must be healthy.

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce.

Once again, the bloggers brunched. There was a lot of food. I provided juice, as I am a Jew. There was much bacon to be had. I’d say “don’t tell my rabbi,” but I don’t have a rabbi.

Has anyone else ever noticed that when you want to type “rabbi” you often type “rabbit?”

This is a hinderance in my professional life, as I work with a rabbi. Hi Noam.

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce.

I was asked to pick a restaurant and couldn’t think what was in-between my place of employment and their place of employment (another Jewish school). So I went with the sushi place we had one before gone. The three of us ate sushi. It was tasty, even though I really hate that plaza (Sheppard and Bathurst).

I had some salmon. I don’t get it. It doesn’t have any taste. Tofu has more taste than salmon. Why would someone want to eat that?

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce.

My 30th birthday started with me not wanting to get out of bed. As I had to go to work and fix my work computer, which had hardware issues. Sigh. It was a really insane day, and I didn’t really want to do it.

I got to work, and got a-fixin’. Didn’t really work. Took the hard drive out, and begun a data transfer to a MacBook, as a temporary solution.

I hadn’t originally planned to be at the North Campus that day, but since I was there some of the younger staff members took me out for sushi. I was the only one who was 30 in the crowd. I’m old. We had fun, ate sushi, and was late at returning.

After work, I headed home, and barely made it home in time for party fun times at The Old Nick. First there were the Millers, all three. Violet was adorable, and friends were awesome. Violet was wearing her Beatles onesie that I bought her, before she was born.

Later a lot more people showed up, and we had fun, and we drank, and we ate, and it was good times.

I had their steak sandwich for the first time, it was good. Not my favourite thing there. I think that’s still the Razzle Dazzle, but that’s a brunch menu item (poached eggs on english muffin, with avocado and hollandaise).

We ended up leaving around 12:30, and the bar was empty, but for staff. It was a great way to spend a birthday.

Also, BOW TIES! I now own two bow ties¹, both are amazing!²

#Rocktober 30 volume 25: Coyote Willy’s

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce.

I used to work at Broadview and Queen. I hated the job, but there were some aspects of that neighbourhood I loved. One of them was a Mexican restaurant called Coyote Willy’s. I would go there all too frequently, and enjoy their veggie burrito.

So I went out for dinner with a few of my former coworkers from that Computer-Store-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named (It wasn’t ClickOn), and once again ordered a tasty burrito. SO FUCKING GOOD!

I missed them.

Gathered with the Millers (all three) and Wat for lunch. Not much to say about this, other than we ate an exorbitant amount of food. It was tasty. They were awesome. I was still in pain.

Another Rocktober night, another dinner. I headed to Clinton’s with Allegra. I enjoyed her company, she enjoyed the hockey.

Yay! I saw Laurie at Dirty Bingo, and we made plans for volume 18. He, Kelly, and I went out for Ethiopian at this tasty tasty place on Church, south of Dundas. The food was excellent, even though the service was slow. In addition, it was dirt cheap.

Even better, I got to hang out with Laurie and Kelly, and I never seem to see those two people.

Then I walked home.

These blog posts are getting shorter.

Went out for brunch to The Old Nick. Yes I’m there constantly. I was poaching their internet, as I wait for Bell to get their shit together (post coming when it’s resolved). I had the Mac & Cheese. So good, not as good as Cari’s.

I got home around 6, and immediately fell asleep. Slept until 9 am.

Second best day of #Rocktober (Wild Flag’s still on top).

Ate tasty food at the Nick with Vince. We shared nachos and jalapeño poppers, so fucking tasty.
